A delegation from UNA – Lebanon headed by its president Mr. Samir Daher attended the Plenary Assembly of WFUNA at Barcelona 8-11 May 2003. The assembly elected the president, vice presidents and executive members and adopted a resolution that denounced the American and British invasion of Iraq.

Mr. Daher kept his position as vice president and representative of WFUNA to ESCWA and was honored by being chosen by WFUNA to take on his behalf the task of establishing new UNAs in the Middle East.
A number of UNAs in Western and Central Asia proposed to establish the Western and Central Asian Group to enforce their efforts for similar benefits. Mr. Daher was chosen as the president of this Group.
