- In 1995, The National Consultant Bioethics Committee was established.
A consultant committee that deals with the ethics of professions.
- Resolution No. 157 issued on 26/02/1996 by the Ministry of
Education in which a committee from members of the Ministry and
members from UNA-Lebanon was formed to encourage and teach principles
and purposes of the United Nations to lebanese youth.
- A research study was completed by members of UNA-Lebanon upon
the request of the UNESCO on all information found in civics books
of elementary and secondary classes related to the United Nations.
Evaluating it and correcting it (October 2001).
- Was the first to raise “One Thousand Dinners” on
“Di- mining” in Lebanon (November 2001).
- Circulation No. 75/M/2002 issued on 18/12/2002 by the Ministry
of Education and Higher studies by which the Ministry encourages
conferences and lectures in universities and schools to raise
public awareness on “Di- mining” as well as promoting
contests in each province and distributing prizes to the winners.
- Scholar and educational books were donated to several municipalities
of different regions in Lebanon.
- Introduced the project of “Ombudsman” to be adopted
in Lebanon.
- A study in French on why creating the “Ombudsman”
was made by Mr. Samir Daher under the title “Amorce Vers
la Création de L’Institution du Médiateur:
Protecteur du Citoyen”.
- The President of UNA-Lebanon took the initiative (by the permission
of WFUNA) to establish UNAs in the Arab countries i.e. Algeria,
Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. Already,
UNA-Soudan, Jordan, Tunis & Yamen have been established.
